Franz-Josef Bindert

Franz-Josef Bindert studerede jura ved Universitetet i Mannheim og Heidelberg. Hr. Bindert arbejder i øjeblikket som vicegeneralforstander for smitsomme sygdomme og sundhedsbeskyttelse på det føderale sundhedsministerium i Tyskland. Han ledede den første reaktion på udbruddet af hiv-virussen og skabte den første aids-kampagne i Tyskland. Han er også ansvarlig for tilsynet med Robert Koch Institut i Berlin. Hr. Bindert er medlem af bestyrelsen for Det Europæiske Center for Forebyggelse og Kontrol af Sygdomme (ECDC) i Stockholm samt bestyrelserne for Paul Ehrlich-fonden og Robert Koch-fonden.
Dr. Don Francis

After completing undergraduate studies at the University of California at Berkeley, Dr. Francis received his M.D. from Northwestern University, a Doctor of Science in Virology from Harvard, pediatric training at the University of Southern California Medical Center in Los Angeles and infectious disease training at Harvard. While at the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, he played a significant role in the elimination of smallpox in India, Bangladesh, Sudan and the former Yugoslavia. In addition to working in cholera and Ebola control, he was one of the first scientists to suggest that AIDS was caused by an infectious agent. Dr. Francis became a pioneer researcher to develop an HIV/AIDS vaccine, beginning with his work at Genentech in 1993. In 1995, he co-founded VaxGen where the world’s first HIV/AIDS efficacy trials were completed in the United States, Canada, Holland and Thailand. In 2004, he retired from VaxGen to establish a not-for-profit foundation, Global Solutions for Infectious Diseases, dedicated to developing vaccines for the less developed parts of the world. He is a frequent consultant for WHO.
Dr. Brian Gushulak

Dr. D.A. Henderson (2012-2016)

Dr. D. A. Henderson var professor i medicin og folkesundhed ved University of Pittsburgh og er en fremtrædende forsker ved Center for Biosecurity i Baltimore. Han var professor og tidligere dekan på Johns Hopkins School of Public Health. Han tjente som livsvidenskabelig rådgiver for præsident G. H. W. Bush og var den første direktør for det nyoprettede Office of Public Health Emergency Preparedness i Department of Health and Human Services. Han modtog Presidential Medal of Freedom og National Medal of Science, samt mange andre priser. Han modtog Japan Prize og blev adlet af Thailands konge.
Dr. David Heymann

Dr. David Heymann er leder af Center for Global Sundhedssikkerhed ved Chatham House i London; formand for bestyrelsen i Health Protection Agency, Storbritannien, og professor i epidemiologi for infektionssygdomme ved London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Tidligere var han WHO's assisterende generaldirektør for sundhedssikkerhed og miljø samt generaldirektørens repræsentant for udryddelse af polio. Han har modtaget mange hædersbevisninger for sin indsats for global folkesundhed. I øjeblikket er han redaktør for "Control of Communicable Diseases Manual", en fælles publikation fra American Public Health Association og Verdenssundhedsorganisationen.
Dr. C. William Keck

Dr. C. William Keck er professor og emeriteret formand for Institut for Familie- og Samfundsmedicin ved Northeast Ohio Medical University og tidligere direktør for folkesundhed i byen Akron, Ohio. Han har tidligere været præsident for American Public Health Association, Council on Education for Public Health, Ohio Public Health Association, Association of Ohio Health Commissioners og Summit County Medical Society. Han er i øjeblikket formand for Council on Linkages between Academia and Public Health Practice og chefredaktør for tidsskriftet MEDICC Review. Dr. Keck er fellow i American College of Preventive Medicine.
Dr. Ann Marie Kimball

Dr. Kimball er professor i epidemiologi og sundhedstjenester ved University of Washington School of Public Health and Community Medicine samt direktør for Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Emerging Infections Network og Fogarty International Scholars-programmet i sundhedsinformatik. Hun er adjungeret professor i medicin ved School of Medicine og adjungeret professor ved Jackson School of International Studies. Hun er også praktiserende læge på Harborview Medical Center. I 2000 blev hun udnævnt som New Century Scholar af Fulbright, og i 2004 modtog hun en stipendiepris fra Guggenheim Foundation for sit arbejde.
